Vintage jewelry in Toronto / the GTA?
I am looking for recommendations of shops in the Toronto area (general or downtown, or otherwise in Mississauga, Lakeshore and Etobicoke) that carry or specialize in vintage, vintage or replica costume jewelry. *** *** Not generous, that is, nothing what you would find in a town or a case of expensive jewelry. Jewelers could be stored, or even cases in a clothing store, whatever … any ideas? Additional Information: I am thinking of buying a ring or other piece of jewelry for my sister as a college graduation gift. She is a designer, so I really want to avoid all generic and wanting to go to something dramatic, art deco, or even something sweet (like a soft pearl necklace bracelet .. as long as it is forgettable). I do not want to go to a store of "expensive" but I'm willing to spend a few hundred quality of a piece of unique, because it's something I want her to have forever.
I would to Kensington Market for something vintage. It's great – is full of small vintage shops and independent designers. It is located west of downtown Toronto in the Spadina-Dundas-Bathurst-university.
